This is a very difficult time for both telephone companies and telecom service
providers. During the past 18 months, over 550,000 jobs have been lost in this
sector of the economy. The industry is rife with bankruptcies, mergers, major
downsizing efforts, and very poor earnings - many of the "survivors" in

finding their stocks trading at all time lows, and
the level of customer support continues to suffer as
a result.
In
addition, the federal and state regulatory bodies have fined
their minions over $2 Billion for deceptive pricing and advertising,
slamming, cramming, poor service, and billing overcharges.
These actions do not include the other criminal, civil and
SEC investigations that are taking place against telecoms
that have declared bankruptcy or are being investigated for
accounting discrepancies and other illegal actions.
